Canon and historical context
1 Enoch 9 depicts a request for heavenly advocacy. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church lists Enoch among its biblical books. Byzantine Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Reformed canons do not include it. Historical relevance and canonical authority are separate.
