A new covenant and forgiven sin
Jesus speaks of the new covenant in his blood, and Hebrews quotes Jeremiah's promise.
Historical context
Jeremiah promises a renewed covenant with Israel and Judah, God's instruction written within them, knowledge of God, and forgiveness after covenant failure.
Perspective note
Comparative historical/source study. The original author's or church's reception is retained; inclusion does not make every claim Oriental Orthodox teaching.
Tradition note
Oriental Orthodox study: the eternal Word and life-giving Spirit are confessed within Nicene faith. These passage connections distinguish original context, New Testament use and later Christian interpretation. Historical witnesses retain their own church reception; a proposed interpretation is not automatically a universal Oriental teaching.
Avoid overclaiming
Luke's meal saying uses the new-covenant language; Hebrews 8:8–12 supplies the extended explicit quotation. Christian reception differs in explaining continuity with Israel and the covenant's sacramental implications.
