Saints and heavenly intercession
Saints are honored as witnesses to Christ, while worship belongs to God. The 1973 Catholic–Coptic declaration confesses Mary as ever-Virgin and Theotokos and affirms that she intercedes for the faithful. This supplies a concrete Coptic confession of intercession; the commemoration of other saints retains its named church reception.
