Where is the warrant to invoke?
Granting that departed saints pray does not show that we should invoke them. Without scriptural authorization for this act, how can a Christian confidently know that God approves it?
Perspective note
The Orthodox response is presented affirmatively. Named Lutheran, Reformed, and ancient objections retain their own attribution; analytic questions are labeled as such.
